Depressed by the ‘no-show’ summer Britain was once again forced to endure, I leapt at the chance to spend two weeks basking in the illusive sun, which was apparently hovering valiantly over in Malta. I journeyed there with my very generous mum and sister Nicola.

The petite island, characterized as the ‘full-stop’ on the Med, is rife with photographic opportunities, accommodating numerous towns, sites of historically interest and vistas galore, Malta is a must-visit for the photography enthusiast seeking a sun-filled getaway. The island of Gozo is only a few minutes away by ferry and albeit smaller than its neighbor, has just as much view finder fodder to quench your creative thirst.
